4 Reasons Why it’s Important for Women to Travel Alone

Most of us crave for experiences that spice up our life, makes our soul dance with joy, enriches our lives and break free from the shackles of our daily lives. Travel offers all that and much more. It transforms our very core and helps us learn new things of ourselves which we never knew were a part of us. But no matter how exciting or adventurous it looks many of us hesitate travelling alone. We have a long list of reasons that we give ourselves and others around about why it’s not safe for women to travel alone based on the many assumptions that our society has been feeding us.

So let’s reexamine our beliefs and take a look at all the reasons why you should travel alone:

 1. It helps you become independent

Travelling helps you more independent and responsible as you are the only one who is making all the decisions about where to stay, what to eat, which places to see without relying on anyone.  You are quite literally the queen of your universe and the sole decision maker of your life for those few days. You also learn to trust your instincts and improve your decision making skills.

 2. You’ll discover the new world

When you venture on your own you’ll see that most of the people out there are friendly and willing to help. You just have to learn to trust people and be open minded. Now I am not asking you to be naïve and blindly trust everyone, but trust your instincts and try not to look at everyone with a hint of suspicion.  It makes your travelling experience a lot more fun and enjoyable.

 3. It expands your horizons

Travel helps you see the world from a different perspective. You get to experience different cultures, meet all kinds of people and try out new cuisines, which broaden your view of the world and makes you realize that there is so much more to the world than you are aware of and that life is much more than just work, relationships, your challenges and issues.

 4. Travel helps you get out of your comfort zone

Travelling alone forces you to get out of your safety net, push beyond your limits and face your faces. You would notice that it would actually be easier to leave your comfort zone while travelling because you are so soaked up in that feeling of adventure and euphoria.

So what are you waiting for get out there and grab every opportunity that allows you to travel and see the world with only your eyes for a change. Trust me when I say it will transform the very core of your belief.
